Matt swift at thefuse factoryOn the evening of Thursday, December 11, The Fuse Factory Electronic + Digital Arts Lab hosted digital artist/electronic musician Franck Vigroux (FR), who performed his audiovisual project “Cascades”. Joining him on the bill were experimental electronic musician David Reed’s (CMH) solo project Envenomist, and experimental electronic musician/video artist and Ohio Art League Secretary, Matt Swift (CMH). Matt's performance titled Immersion was the third part in his ongoing Eschato Saga of audio visuals works focusing on a dystopian mirror of the world that changed as of March 2020. Watch his performance on YouTube and check out the Fuse Factory channel for audio visual arts performances. | Tour of Tacita DeanBlind Folly exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Artwith Docent, Gisela Josenhans, on Tuesday, January 27th at 11:30. Limited to 11 OAL members. RSVP: oal@oal.org. Fee: General Admission to CMA Tacita Dean: Blind Folly is the first major museum survey in the United States of work by British European visual artist Tacita Dean (b. 1965). The exhibition, organized in close collaboration with Dean, spotlights her career-defining approach to creating art through unmediated and chance-based drawing processes across a variety of mediums, from film to printmaking. Blind Folly, the show’s title, reflects Dean’s desire to let the behavior of her mediums dictate the results of her work. For the artist, the playful and old-fashioned phrase connoting foolishness, “blind folly,” represents the role chance and fate play in the creative act. |
President's cornerWe closed 2025 off with a bang! The 2025 Thumb Box Exhibition was larger than last year, very well attended, and had lots of sales. The final day is January, 15th. The new year is always a great time to begin planning for upcoming exhibition opportunities with Ohio Art League! Not only our Spring and Fall Juried Exhibitions, but the Gateway for the Arts at John Glenn Columbus International Airport and more. As we look forward to even bigger year! -Julian Cennamo |
