    Today is the opening of "from Woman X" at the Lakeland Community College Gallery in Kirtland, Ohio.  The reception will be held on Sunday, March 26 at  3:30pm.

    Artists from all corners of the world, 18 years and up, are invited to enter their works for the 2015 Art Kudos International Juried Exhibition. All works submitted must be original in design and concept. Selected finalists will appear in a year-long online exhibition at www.artKudos.com 

    Deadline: All images and entry fees must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by June 30, 2015. Entries may be submitted online or physically. See below for details.


    Drawings, paintings, printmaking, photography, digital art, sculpture, installations, wood, glass, ceramics, fiber art and mixed media are eligible. Video/film and wearable art (jewelry or clothing) are NOT eligible for consideration. Publishers, galleries, agents, and collectors may not submit artwork on behalf of artists.

    A non-refundable entry fee of $35 allows artists to submit up to three images. 

    Awards: Exemplary works will be displayed in a year-long online exhibition at http://www.artkudos.com/. Cash awards totaling $4,500 will be distributed as follows: Best of Show - $1,200; Second Place - $1,000; Third Place - $750; Founder's Award of Distinction - $500; (3) Merit Awards - $250 each; (3) Honorable Mentions - $100 each.

    Jurors Denny Griffith, Natalie Marsh and Rose Bouthillier will select the exhibiting artists. Each selected artist will be grouped with one or two other artists to show at ROY G BIV Gallery for  one month. Group show proposals will also be accepted. ROY G BIV Gallery is a nonprofit art gallery located in the Short North Arts District of Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 1989, ROY is known for presenting innovative contemporary art by emerging artists from around the world.

    About the Jurors

    Dennison Griffith served as President of Columbus College of Art & Design from 1998 to 2014, and before that he was Deputy Director of The Columbus Museum of Art. Alongside his administrative career, Griffith is an artist whose work has been exhibited extensively, both domestically and abroad.

    Natalie Marsh is Director of the Graham Gund Gallery at Kenyon College. She previously served as Director of the Denison Museum at Denison University and as Director of the exhibitions program at Columbus College of Art & Design.

    Rose Bouthillier is Associate Curator and Publications Manager at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland. Her writing has been published in C Magazinefriezeesse, and Art Criticism & Other Short Stories

    About Fresh A.I.R. Gallery

    Celebrating the past 10 years and launching the next decade, the Fresh A.I.R. Gallery will host an anniversary exhibition from April 29–July 17, 2015. 

    Since opening their gallery doors in September 2004, Fresh A.I.R. Gallery has shown 60 exhibitions, displaying the artwork of over 200 artists and sold more than 250 pieces of artwork totaling over $60,000. Fresh A.I.R. Gallery does not accept any commission for art sold through the gallery. All proceeds from sold work go directly to the artists to help them establish their careers. Many exhibits demonstrate the courage and struggles of the artists as they combat stigma and address social issues.

    In conjunction with our Anniversary Celebration, the Fresh A.I.R. Gallery will host Beyond the Visual: a series of performing artists and artist talks addressing important current cultural issues. 

    These events will be held Tuesdays: May 12, May 19, and May 27 all from 5:00–7:00 pm. They will have some incredible performers and speakers that will be reading poetry, talking about their creative research, how art can be a means to social change, the justice system, race, human trafficking, and social justice.

    This exhibition will feature the photographic work of Ohio Art League member artist, Darlene Yeager-Torre which emphasizes luminescence in natural and artificial landscapes. Paired with the photographic work of Douglas Nesse, commissioned by the Schnormeier family. 

    The MVNU Schonormeier Gallery is free and open to the public.
