Spring Juried Exhibition 2014

Our Juror for the Spring Juried Exhibition is Denny Griffith, President of Columbus College of Art and Design. We are honored that it will be his last juried exhibition as President of CCAD. To challenge the artists he has selected the open theme of Joy/Roy/Boy for our artists to freely interpret.



Since 1910, OAL's annual juried exhibitions have been the backbone of the organization's artistic programming, showcasing contemporary work by Ohio artists. A juror is invited to recognize work of high artistic merit.
These major shows are held at partnering venues such as:

  • Springfield Museum of Art
  • Columbus Cultural Arts Center
  • Carnegie Gallery at Columbus Metropolitan Library
  • Fort Hayes Shot Tower Gallery
  • State Library of Ohio
  • McConnell Arts Center
Art curators and critics of national renown are invited to serves as jurors, reviewing and selecting members’ art for inclusion in the exhibitions.

In recent years OAL has welcomed artists Ann Hamilton, Marc Mayer, Deputy Director of Art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Ingrid Schaffner, Senior Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), Elizabeth Thomas, Assistant Curator at the Carnegie Museum of Art (Pittsburgh) and Helen Molesworth, Chief Curator at the Wexner Center for the Arts.

Student Juried Exhibition

This exhibition offers student artists the opportunity to show work in any medium fit for wall display.


Fall Juried Exhibition

The annual spring and fall juried exhibitions are the backbone of OAL’s artistic programming, presented annually since 1910.

Ohio Made

The annual Ohio Made festival, a marketplace made up exclusively of Ohio artists and craft vendors, features a juried art exhibition open to both OAL members and non-members. 

The two-day festival also includes live music and food vendors.
